Flute Tre Fuochi Murano Glass Gold. "Tre fuochi" (Three fires or triple firing") . The glass items are made in Florence-Italy and are decorated in Murano by Salvadori family (since 1947), with 24 kt gold "sgraffito" and many colored enamels. The 24-Karat gold leaf and enamel are applied by hand to the glass with a traditional technique. When the decoration has been achieved, the piece is heated in a furnace called "muffola", where it remains pegged until it reaches a temperature of about 520°C and the gold and the enamel fuse with the glass.
The first step is the decoration in gold, which is followed by a session in the muffola. In the second stage , the enamel is applied and undergoes another firing in the muffola. for the third and final stage, the finishing touches in gold paste to the enamel are applied, before the last firing.
Decorated in Murano, Venice-Italy. Shipping, good packaging, insurance and certificate of authenticity included in the price.
Gold leaf is gold that has been hammered into thin sheets by goldbeating and is often used for gilding. Gold leaf is available in a wide variety of karats and shades. The most commonly used gold is 22-karat yellow gold.
Gold leaf is a type of metal leaf, but the term is rarely used when referring to gold leaf. The term metal leaf is normally used for thin sheets of metal of any color that do not contain any real gold. Pure gold is 24 karats. Real yellow gold leaf is about 91.6% pure gold. Silver colored white gold is approximately 50% pure gold.
Layering gold leaf over a surface is called gold leafing or gilding. Traditional water gilding is the most difficult and highly regarded form of gold leafing. It has remained virtually unchanged for hundreds of years and is still done by hand.
